MES Support Technician

Circa £35k-42k + Benefits

We are looking for a Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Support Technician to join our engineering team in this newly created role. This role is based at our Purina factory in Sudbury, Suffolk. This role is days based and will give you a great opportunity to continuously develop your skill set as well as sharing knowledge cross-functionally with other departments.

What you can expect?
The MES Support Technician will provide support to the Manufacturing Execution Systems and the Factory Automation Systems (FAS). The MES Support Technician will play an active role in working with Operations and Engineering users to gather and identify business requirements and use-cases to support designing of new IT system enhancements.

Other responsibilities will include.
· Ownership to build, configure and test MES and FAS servers and clients, providing on-going “housekeeping) functions to systems.
· Provide accurate and timely support to higher-level automation systems and liaise with support contractors to resolve problems.
· Ensure systems and services are running at optimal efficiency, making recommendations for improvements where required.
· Undertake prescribed patching and updates in line with corporate policy.
· Document changes for future reference and learning.
· Work with external contractors to implement improvements and resolve issues.
· Complete project work within specification and within the agreed timeframes.
· Ability to analyse test results identifying root cause of problems and delivering the required improvements.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with previous experience within Execution Systems, installation and testing of software and resolution of conflicts.

They should be an expert within their filed, with their finger on the pulse within the industry.
Individuals should be able to demonstrate their ability to understand and consider the wider business context/strategy and how this impacts their activities and decision making, looking at the bigger picture throughout their activities.
Ability to effectively document changes to produce SOPs and written instructions others can easily use.
Knowledge of higher level programming languages (SQL, C++, Visual Basic)
Experience in HTML coding, Database queries
Familiarity with Rockwell suite applications (Factory Talk, RS View)
Experience with a manufacturing background is vital to be successful in this role.
A HNC qualification in a technical subject would be desirable.
