Hygienist & Food Safety Specialist

Nestlé Research and Development Center, Amiens, France Permanent role
This specialist position is responsible for insuring food safety compliance both in the innovation and operation areas of Nestle Purina Petfood by supporting product and process developments for food safety assessment as well as supporting the European factories to guarantee food safety on each site.
Key responsibilities
· Oversee hygiene monitoring to lower risk of product cross contamination by ensuring the compliance of the Pathogen Monitoring Program while examining methods, assisting in corrective actions and providing trainings and workshops on the subject
· Manage and contribute to the HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) through support of safety and risk assessments, ensuring factory and global alignment and providing training and workshops
· Ensure new products/processes and modifications to existing products/process meet hygiene standards while collaborating with other teams
· Oversee salmonella risk reduction through safeguards in zoning and air handling requirements as well as providing systems and alternative methods for cleaning
Education and experience
· Minimum Bachelors or Engineer (B+5) degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry or Food Science
· Minimum 3 years' experience in hygiene and food safety in a factory environment
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Fluent in English (spoken and written)
· Ability to travel 30-50% of the time
· Ability to travel on short notice (less than 5% of the time)
