Chemistry Analyst (12 month fixed term contract)

Circa £20k plus benefits

We're looking for an experienced Chemistry Analyst to join the Nestle Quality Assurance Centre team in York.

The Chemistry team ensure that consumers have accurate information regarding the nutritional profile of our products, and that our products consistently meet the defined nutritional standards.
What can you expect?
As Chemistry Analyst you will be responsible for carrying out chemical testing (“wet” chemistry and instrumental analysis) to establish nutritional composition. You will be required to work in a laboratory environment, routinely applying Good Laboratory Practices.

Other responsibilities will include:
· Partake in relevant proficiency schemes
· Being involved in project and investigation work as required by the business.
· Take part in internal and external audits.
· Assist in cleaning duties and disposal of waste materials
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a proactive and enthusiastic Chemistry Analyst who has worked within a laboratory testing environment.

Other attributes would include:
· HNC/Degree in Chemistry or a relevant science subject or previous relevant experience.
· Experience of GC, IC or HPLC, or alternatively of traditional food testing methods such as dietary fibre or fat determination, would be an advantage.
· Work on own initiative.
· Manage and prioritise workload in a fast paced environment.
