The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Beverage in Orbe is the leading Nestlé Coffee, Beverages and Cereals Competence Centre that develops products, production processes and delivery systems for in-home and out-of-home consumption. The coffee department is the center of competence for coffee technology and provides major activities on process and product development, renovation and innovation in all major areas of Nestlé's coffee.

To complete our coffee team based in Orbe, we are currently looking for a Chemical Engineer.

Your main responsibilities will be the organization of development, innovation and renovation of products/processes/systems from initiation through all stages of development. Build extended expertise and apply engineering principals to provide relevant scientific/technical guidance in response to business and consumer needs and moreover to understand and be able to integrate more widely the science beyond product/process development.

Key responsibilities

·  Manage projects according to briefs from the markets and start process in NPDI. Ensuring all stage gates are closed timely and within project costs, and performing risk assessment analysis and early equipment warning.
·  Propose, plan and deliver technical and scientific support in projects for NPTC and/or Markets. Manage knowledge building and business related project activities. Present results in written and oral form to interested parties.
·  Provide accurate and on-time support to operation and help provide effective and sustainable solutions. Give support to customers, assistance in industrialization start-ups, follow-up product launches, including technical and product improvements. Ensure zero waste and vertical start up.
·  Contribute and propose new ideas and activities to NPTC/R&D, Commercial Units and Operations. Explore patentable technologies and processes.
·  Extended understanding of Science & Technology, Quality, and Safety and Environment knowledge in particular in the area of product/process on extraction, fractionation and/or concentrates.
·  Actively contribute in knowledge transfer and dissemination between different sites (R&D, Org. Units).
·  Start guiding younger project team members and provide coaching to technicians and trainees.

Education and experience

·  Engineer degree and/or PhD in food engineering, technology, chemical engineering
·  Leading product and process development projects.
·  Personnel Supervision (of multidisciplinary team, technical teams or other 3rd parties).
·  Integration to external science/technology networks.
·  Acute mindset in translating science and technology into consumer benefits and business winning concepts
·  Self-Management following defined KPIs/Objectives, and proactively tracking them.
·  Fluent in English and other languages advantageous.
·  Plus to have an economical education or understanding on finance/costing and marketing.
