Position Summary
The Specialty Pet Business Analyst is responsible for providing in-depth analysis of category and channel opportunities for assigned customers, making recommendations to the Customer Business Team that support the achievement of budgeted sales and the establishment of category growth for the customer and Nestlé Purina PetCare.
Major Responsibilities
· Source, monitor, report and make recommendations on the consumer, customer and market. Uncover and share trends/insights within the Pet Specialty channel.
· Contribute to the development of new business opportunities in the Pet Specialty Channel
· Responsible for numerical analysis and provides input into:
· Account Plan / Business Plans
· Volume Submissions
· Trade Spend Management
· Presents in customer meetings in areas such as numerical findings and promotional Best Practices.
· Provide category management analytics and expertise for customers, with key focus on assortment, pricing, placement and promotion
· Initiate and assist in projects pertaining to the development of category overviews and action plans, as directed by key stakeholders, utilizing category and channel tools that will deliver customer category objectives and improve sales results for Nestlé Purina PetCare.
· Contribute, when required, in special project initiatives to assist in the accomplishment of business objectives and personnel development.
· Responsible for supporting various customer administration tasks including but not limited to promotion bulletins, contracts and new product forms.
· Provide clear, succinct, compelling and timely communication of Category and Channel.
Organizational Relationships/Scope
This position reports to the Key Account Manager and interacts internally with assigned customer team(s), business unit (Specialty Pet), Finance, Retail Operations, Marketing and MDO (Marketing Development Organization).
Qualifications
· A university degree in a business related discipline.
· 2 – 3 years of experience in field sales with a CPG company.
· 2 – 3 years of progressive data analysis experience.
· Strong communication skills and expertise presenting to both small and large groups.
· Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Demonstrated ability to manage well under deadlines and multi-task effectively.
· A results and detail-oriented professional, with exceptional interpersonal skills.
· Financial acumen and an understanding of P&L drivers.
· An excellent understanding of technology (MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Access) and a good understanding of network applications related to Sales Information. SAP experience is an asset.
