Boilerman Grade 1

Job description

Accountable to ensure high efficiency and comply with the safety standard and regulations for boiler house operation, steam distribution, air heaters operation, air compressor operation & soft water ion exchangers.

Your responsibilities would be to:

Makes routine checks for

· CG Boiler operations, water treatment, and Nescafe air heaters
· Trenches for service lines
· Coffee Ground handling operation
· Burner equipment (steam atomizing system – Free Board and Duct Burner) diesel lines checks for any abnormalities and reports to the superior immediately.
· Feed water treatment operations i e chemical handling and dosing, deaerator temperature
· All services lines, e.g natural gas, steam condensate, water, soft water for leaks & reports any defects immediately
· Pumps at Nescafe raw pit, uncolor pit, and high color pit

Boiler Water Treatment and Analysis

· Conduct analysis and record boiler water, feed water, condensate and soft water as and when required
· Chemical handling, steam and condensate sampling and deaerator operations

CG Handling Operation

· Ensure continuous supply of Coffee Ground into boiler
· Periodically checks the silo, conveyor, decanter, vetter press, tanks and pumps operations
· Involve in maintenance and improvement (M&I) activities in the plant
· Ensure the plant running smoothly without product starvations (machine running empty) to any of the equipment.
· Identify all the anomalies within the plant and report to the superior immediately for rectifications
· Ensure smooth operations of Coffee Ground Transport Conveyor (CGTC) and Coffee Ground Horizontal Conveyor (CGHC)

Boiler Operation

· Operate boilers in such a way that high efficiency is obtained and conforms to the safety standards and regulations of machinery department (DOSH)
· Periodically checks during production and non-production periods all steam distribution systems including pressure reducing stations/valves, safety valves and steam traps
· Involve in the annual inspection activities with regards to the maintenance, checking, repair and commissioning
· Record all the steam, gas, water softwater consumptions generated from the boiler supplied to the plant
· Carry out frequent service, maintenance and inspection to all the machinery on the boiler house
· Carry out calibration for the portable water treatment analysis kit such as pH meter and TDS meter
· Keep the boilerhouse, evaporator and diesel tank yard clean and neat

Evaporator Operation

· Ensure correct operation of High Color and Press Water Evaporator with regards to the quality and safe operational procedures
· Ensure the evaporator delivers the quality of sludge as desired quality of 25% Total Concentration (TC)
· Operates tanks for storage of high color, press water and sludge and ensure 100% compliance towards the local regulations
· Ensure correct operations of sealing water for the evaporators and avoid overflowing of the water to the monsoon drain
· Records all working parameters and detect anomalies and report to the superior immediately
· Involve in maintenance and improvement (M&I) activities in the plant
· Involve in the annual inspection activities with regards to the maintenance, checking, repair and commissioning
· Perform other work for the engineering department as required when not operating boiler

You must have the following:

· Complete Form 5 or its equivalent
· Minimum 3 years working experience
· Possesses Boilerman Certificate Grade 1
· Knowledge in Boiler, Waste Water Treatment & Compressed Air
