Application Group Technician

Job description

To assist the product technologists to achieve and maintain high technical standards in new products & process development and renovation of products & processes in portfolio. Driven by business needs and fundamental to contributing to sustainable business growth via new products & processes developments under appropriate I&R projects.

Your responsibilities would be to:


Facilitate and ensure that the manufacturing trials are executed according to recipe and SOP
· Ensure that the raw materials for manufacturing trials and 1st and 2nd industrial production are prepared according to the manufacturing recipe advised by product technologist
· Ensure that the processing line and equipment are correctly set up for manufacturing trials or 1st and 2nd industrial production as per the processing flow diagram established by the product technologist
· Ensure that the manufacturing procedure and processing conditions (pressure, temperature, time, flow rate and etc) are correctly applied according the SOP.
· Collect the samples of manufacturing trials or 1st and 2nd industrial production for KQ study, send samples to the lab for analysis, tasting and etc as per sampling plan advised by product technologist


Ensure application of the quality system for the new product development processes as per guideline
· Arrange the product keeping quality test for the samples of manufacturing trials and 1st and 2nd industrial production according to the KQ monitoring plan. Summarize the KQ monitoring results for the Product technologist.
· Collect the raw & packaging materials and finished goods samples and send to the lab for analysis.
· Collect the samples of manufacturing trial and 1st and 2nd industrial production and send to PTCs and SBUs for official product approval


Assist the Product Technologist to develop product recipe
· Prepare kitchen samples as per guideline from the product technologist.
· Arrange product tasting.
· Prepare kitchen samples to marketing for consumer research.
· Send samples to importing countries for evaluation.


Create raw material specification & registration in SAP system as per guideline
· Create the raw material specifications in the SAP system according to the raw material specifications provided by the product technologist.
· Ensure the approval of raw material specifications in the SAP workflow are completed within the defined timeline.
· Request the new raw material number in the SAP.
· Ensure the workflow and status of for the new raw material is ready before industrialization.


Assist for applying and renewing Halal certificate
· Consolidate the Halal certificates or Halal checklists for all the raw materials used for the new products
· Summit the raw materials specifications or Halal Checklist to Nestle Halal Chairman for endorsement before submitting to JAKIM.
· Liaise and follow up with JAKIM until receiving the Halal certificate.


You must have the following:
· Minimum Diploma or Bachelor in Science related field (Food sciences and technology, Agricultural, Biochemistry or etc).
· 1-5 years working experience
· Knowledgeable and practices Halal.
