Responsibilities

Universal Studios Hollywood (USH), the “Entertainment Capital of L.A.” and the world's largest working movie studio and theme park, is looking to fill a technician role in the Point of Sales area. This position serves as day-to-day functional support for the Universal Studios Hollywood Point of Sale (POS) Systems. The POS technician works in coordination with the POS Help Desk to support both POS software and hardware environments for the Food, Merchandise, Ticketing and Parking applications.

Responsibilities
• First level support for the Food, Merchandise, Ticketing and Parking POS systems.
• Provide maintenance of all POS systems in both software and hardware environments.
• Coordinate with the POS team to quickly and efficiently troubleshoot, repair or replace equipment as requested by the client via help desk tickets.
• Maintain accurate inventory for all changes in software and hardware.
• Participate in system upgrades including system upgrades, QA testing, hardware testing
• Technical documentation writing for support and troubleshooting
• Provide weekly status reports to POS management.
• Communicate and interact with front line users and theme park guests.
• Participates in rotating after hours on-call support with other POS technicians.

• Hardware: POS Registers (Posiflex), PCs, Turnstiles, Wireless Networking, RF Scanners, Tablet

Qualifications/Requirements

• Minimum 6 months experience working with basic PC hardware
• Knowledge of operating systems (Windows 7, Windows 10)
• Must be willing to work weekends and nights (holidays included)
• Must occasionally lift, carry, pull, push, and/or move up to 25 pounds
Desired Characteristics

• Previous POS experience
• Help Desk experience
• A+ Certification
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
