Responsibilities

The On Air Tech Scheduler will work within a small but highly motivated and talented team of technical schedulers to maintain the on-air play-out schedules for disaster recovery and TV Everywhere.

Essential Functions
·  Serve as the client services liaison to the on-air operations, the primary scheduling operations on the east and west coasts, and the individual networks' programming and promotions departments. Job performance is measured against 99.999% reliability and accuracy.
·  Schedule play-out to air and channel hardware assignments for the suite of NBCUniversal cable and broadcast properties by way of NBCUniversal's proprietary WebScheduler scheduling system.
·  Use NBCUniversal's proprietary StreetLite application to replace content with possible rights issues. Prep content for air using NBCUniversal's workflow tool.
·  Validate playlists for reliable on-air execution prior to play out including manual edits to schedules for late breaking news and content embargoes.

Basic Qualifications
• BA/BS or 2 year degree in related field (Media, Communications, Computer Science, etc.) or comparable work experience
• Excellent computer application skills (Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Java-based applications)

Desired Characteristics

• Minimum 1 year experience in a 24/7 broadcast operation
• Previous experience with NBCUniversal WebScheduler or StreetLite applications
• Previous experience with Snell Morpheus play-out automation
• Proven effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work across multiple groups/levels in an organization
• Should possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and be project oriented
• Technical experience with automated, real-time systems, digital video and audio troubleshooting, and test techniques
• Understanding of online encoding systems (Inlet, Elemental, Anvato, Cisco, etc.)
• Understanding of scheduling systems (Xytech, ScheduALL, etc.)
• A team player who is always respectful, follows rules and policies, is an excellent communicator, and maintains a positive attitude
• A punctual, hardworking, disciplined, and dependable individual
