Responsibilities

NBCUniversal's Owned Television station in the New York area, WNJU/Telemundo 47, is looking for a Meteorologist/Weather Anchor.

Our successful candidate will be a bilingual scientist who knows how to use graphics and other resources to present the day's weather story in clear, easy-to-understand language and in Spanish.

As a meteorologist, you will have a significant presence on the station's online and mobile platforms, posting up-to-the-minute content.
You will need to stay current on changing weather technology, and ongoing training to get the most out of our weather system. You will make public appearances on behalf of the station and must be willing to work any and all shifts, including early mornings, evenings and weekends (Saturday and Sunday) regularly.

Qualifications/Requirements

• A minimum of two years' experience as a TV Meteorologist
• Bachelor's degree in Meteorology or Atmospheric Science or Certification
• A minimum of two years' experience using and maintaining software from Barons, WSI, Weather Central or equivalent software
• Able to work a Flexible Schedule and Shifts including mornings and weekends
• Must be willing to work at the station in Fort Lee, NJ location
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
• Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU's Alternative Dispute Resolution Program
Desired Characteristics

• American Meteorological Society (AMS) or National Weather Association (NWA) Certified
• Experience with TV weather graphics/animations WSI system
• Exceptional weather judgment
• Strong story telling skills, both written and oral
• Able to meet tight deadlines
• Exhibit great initiatives, problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
• News reporting experiences a plus
