Responsibilities

The Payroll Tax Manager will oversee a 3-person team and lead the day-to-day activities of the SAP payroll tax functions. This position will ensure the organization's compliance with payroll tax withholding, reporting and reconciliation responsibilities. The Payroll Tax Manager will report to the Director, Payroll Tax.

Here's what you'll do in this role

·  Supervise, train, coach, and develop staff while ensuring the team maintains critical industry knowledge by staying current on federal, state, and local statutory wage and tax reporting requirements
·  Oversee SAP Payroll Tax Functions
·  Quarterly/Annual tax returns and W-2 review
·  Wage movements, tax amendments and all other employee tax matters
·  Tax error reports
·  Manage Service Center tickets for payroll tax inquiries
·  Manage Agency Tax Notices
·  Manage additional reporting requests
·  Multiple Worksite Reports
·  Monopolistic Worker's Compensation Reports
·  Streamline processes and strengthen controls
·  Participate in all projects impacting SAP payroll tax, garnishments, and related accounting
·  Complete audits and system testing as necessary
·  Establish strong working relationships with cross-functional peers to identify and implement process improvements to accuracy, efficiency, controls, and client services
·  Document and update processes and procedures as necessary

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Qualifications

·  Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory capacity

·  Minimum 8 years' experience in multi-state payroll tax with demonstrated progression of responsibility

·  Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent payroll tax experience

·  Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with intermediate or advanced Excel skills

·  Working knowledge of high volume SAP payroll / payroll tax functions
