Responsibilities
We are seeking a Licensed Civil Engineer for this role!
Responsibilities will include managing all utility resource consumption and supply for the Universal City property of NBCUniversal. This person will able to effectively align resource planning and management with the long-term vision and plan for the property. This position will require developing strong working relationships with growing jurisdictions as well as utility suppliers. This person must also be able to coordinate with in house trades, project managers, and third party development teams.
The Utility Manager will also work directly with all aspects of construction management and project management to ensure that utility resources are available during each phase of design and construction of a project. This will include but not limited to, client interaction and coordination, regulatory agency interaction with consultant management, architectural and engineering consultants, general contractor, oversight and construction management and problem solving and resolution.
The Manager will lead internal and external Project Manager and teams as well as the broad group of external teams and consultants required to deliver utilities for a project. Regular communication with the Business Units, internal stakeholders and senior management will be required on all projects. Partnership with GRE Transaction and Pre-Development teams will also be required to support transaction due diligence on properties that NBCU might consider acquiring or leasing, as well as coordination on front-end entitlement/pre-construction undertakings.
Responsibilities
· Direct project delivery from programming, concept, design and planning, through construction and commissioning, to project closeout and hand-over for utilities
· Select, direct, coordinate and manage consultant teams to produce documents for all phases of project development including Schematic Design, Design Development, and Construction Documents. Additionally, the Utility Manager will be expected to review specifications and provide inputs and edits through each phase of design
· Develop project budgets and provide costing for each phase of a utility project including assessment and approval of contractor and/or subcontractor bids
· Lead the process of securing all project regulatory approvals and permits to enable projects, from inception to close out. Develop strong relationship with regulatory and approving agencies to facilitate sign-off process
· Develop and track schedules, including critical path activity management, fast track approaches to work scope and project schedule recovery as required
· In compliance with NBCU Sourcing and other policies, manage the process and procedures related to contracts and buyouts
· Run all aspects of utility project including document controls, meetings, jobsite oversight and operations, quality control, contractor coordination, risk management and insurance
· Report utility project financials, schedule, and status to management weekly or as required with recommendations for corrective action as required
· Provide building assessment due diligence and/or test fits in support of all transactions processed by the GRE team; Lead and coordinate other NBCU teams (IS, EHS, Security, Risk) who weight in during the due diligence process
· Resolve conflicts and problems in a timely manner
· Maintain effective professional relationship with regulators, clients, contractors, staff, and management
· Communicate with team members to ensure coordination and compliance for each project
· Engage with regulatory agencies and consultant personnel to ensure project goals are met
· Communicate with multiple internal departments to ensure effective coordination of site activities including IT, Security, Sourcing,
· Lead, collaborate on, and participate in duties and responsibilities relating to the broader goal

Qualifications/Requirements
Basic Qualifications
· Bachelor's degree from an accredited university is required with a preference for degrees in engineering, construction management or a technical degree
· Licensed Civil Engineer
· 3+ years of related experience
· AutoCAD - Civil 3D experience
· ARC view GIS system experience
· Knowledge of roadway design and circulation standards
· City and County code working knowledge
· Wet and Dry utility experience for campus or small municipalities
· Innovyze – InfoSWMM and InfoWater experience
· Hydrology and Hydraulic calculations experience
