Job Description
Natixis is looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to join the New York Credit Risk Team.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
· Prepare detailed credit analysis for various sectors.
· Conduct financial statement analysis, sensitivity analysis, and market research for existing and potential borrowers. Assess cash-flow projections for effective risk mitigation.
· Manage administrative aspects of the credit committee and approval process, including coordination with committee secretaries, preparation of materials and recording/filing of minutes
· Ensure that all counterparty approvals are processed in an accurate and timely manner.
· Build graphs that track changes in commodities prices, high-yield bonds, and interest rates for daily, weekly, and monthly comparison purposes.
· Conduct annual reviews and renewals of existing investment grade and “problem” counterparties by analyzing and providing accurate details about financial performance, projected earnings, and specific industry outlook.
· Opine on the operating condition of borrowers in financial difficulty and discuss potential resolutions in quarterly Watch List meetings.
· Validation of ratings and LGDs for counterparties in different sectors.
· Management of various administrative aspects of the credit department, including close monitoring of existing commitments, making sure they’re up to date in order to avoid breaches and high RWA, as well as the creation and maintenance of “Rating & LGD Expiration” report that informs account officers when their ratings and LGDs are due to expire.
· Maintain and update the Credit Manual when necessary; this includes updating the various processes of the department, risk policies, approval process, and flow charts.
Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience
· Bachelor’s degree or MBA from an accredited college/ university.
· A minimum of two years of relevant experience.
· The ability to manage multiple priorities, working under pressure to meet deadlines, and the ability to respond creatively and quickly in a fast-paced and changing environment.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, but ability to work well within a small team environment.
· Willingness to take on administrative and organizational duties as required
· Strong analytical, quantitative, and modeling skills.
· Technical proficiency with MS Excel modeling, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg; VBA a plus.
· Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
