for the Division Central Life Reserving

Central Life Reserving is responsible for overseeing the valuation of Munich Re Group’s life reinsurance liabilities on all global bases. In addition, it is directly accountable for all operational aspects of the valuation of Life reinsurance business in Continental Europe and Latin America. We are looking for a Valuation Actuary, who as part of a team of actuaries is responsible for actuarial calculations and continuously enhancing analysis and tools.

YOUR JOB
·  Responsibility for actuarial calculations (Solvency II, IFRS, HGB, Economic Risk Capital) of selected lines of business and for the derivation of appropriate valuation best estimates
·  Regular actuarial reviews of models and assumptions as well as validation of the results
·  Creating meaningful and target group-specific reports for various internal and external stakeholders
·  New modelling of life reinsurance contracts in the actuarial projection tool AXIS, partial migration of existing modelling
·  Define the required inputs and outputs for existing or future databases
·  Sharing of experience with modelling experts within Munich Re

YOUR PROFILE
·  University degree in mathematics or equivalent qualification, ideally member of one internationally recognized actuarial Association (e.g. DAV) or in training to be actuary
·  Extensive experience with actuarial modelling tools (ideally knowledge of AXIS) as well as in building and managing a valuation landscape
·  Many years experience in reinsurance or life insurance
·  Excellent analytical and conceptual skills combined with the ability to explain complex actuarial questions
·  High level of initiative, strong commitment, innovative and solution-oriented approach
·  Very good command of spoken and written English, German would be an advantage
