Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited (MRoA) has been operating in South Africa for almost 50 years, although the Munich Re (Group) was active on the Continent via Munich Re in Munich for some years prior to commencing the Southern African operation in Johannesburg in 1968. The Head Office of MRoA is in Johannesburg, with a client service Life office situated in Cape Town and Client Management offices in Accra – for West Africa - and Nairobi – for East Africa. We are looking for a qualified HR Manager to join our team in the challenging role of Operational Management.
YOUR JOB
The HR Manager is expected to contribute to MRoA Group strategy and the attainment of its goals as stated in its Balance Scorecard, and bears overall responsibility for:
Ensuring optimal job-person matching
Includes:
· Drives practices to attract, retain & motivate best qualified employees for positions at MRoA
· Ensures optimal reward practices are in place to drive high performance Operationalisation of HR strategy
Includes:
· Ensuring alignment between MRoA strategic objectives and HR strategic targets
· Manage, coach and develop the team of HR team members (4), adding value in the fields of Employee Relations, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Recruitment, Reporting and Remuneration.
· Drive the development of management information systems to complement our existing payroll and performance management systems
· Project management of HR initiatives in response to MR global or MRoA business change requests – take the brief and ensure delivery.
· Advising and partnering with customers. Talent Management

YOUR PROFILE
Minimum Formal Education and Required Work Experience:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management Experience and Skills:
· Minimum of 5 years progressive HR management experience as a generalist in a Financial Services environment with excellent command of the English language and good communication skills
· Minimum of 3 years prior experience of managing an HR team
· Project management experience
· Excellent leadership and team development skills
· Strategic capabilities
· Good negotiation skills
· Understanding of Industrial Relations
· Background knowledge in payroll
· Presentation skills at all levels
