Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Shift Technical Officer at our Minsterley site, to ensure the production of safe, legal and specification compliant products from the business unit; responsible for ensuring HACCP is applied and that food safety requirements are met, whilst employing continuous improvement techniques.
In this role the key responsibilities will include:
• Raising GMP/Hygiene standards in production areas & ensuring compliance to the relevant GMP/Hygiene standards/policies and best practice through internal auditing process
• Measure compliance to traceability legislation by checking for traceability information on lines and raw materials with accurate retrieval of relevant information
• Control of stock using SAP, FMS & WMS systems
• Checking relevant standards being met for service providers for environmental, H & S, pest control and hygiene facilities throughout whole site
• To manage all certificates of conformity ensuring raw materials are available at all times against specification
• Carry out necessary checks (environment and equipment) to ensure that all targets (micro, chemical, physical, temperatures etc) are being met – including use of ATP equipment and provide report
• Manage Taste Panel process (including TAYGo) fully, ensuring full attendance, carry out trend analysis and corrective actions fully closed out
• Ensure the effective coaching/mentoring/training of factory personnel in all food safety protocols and monitoring/auditing actions to ensure operations team’s food safety accountabilities being achieved
• Monitor and review Operational and quality standards/procedures (i.e. CCP's and other KPI targets) are being followed, and advise where shortfalls in practice to resolve issue
• Participation in Food Safety, BRC & Customer / 3rd Party audits as required
• To assist the NPD process in the organoleptic assessment of any shelf life extension work
• Update and issue quality standards and attributes packs for each product to Line Leaders
• Attend trials in relevant zones assisting NPD & production
• Proactively encourage & drive initiatives in support of continuous improvement, ensuring the company’s internal control structure at all times.
Subject Matter Experts in key accountable areas i.e. pest control, hygiene, etc
• Working with Line Leader's and other disciplines (Process, Engineers and Logistics) to minimise non-conformances and assist in problem solving
Go See’ – looking for potential/emerging Quality/Technical issues.
• Co-ordination of Quality Investigation Team.
• Audits against relevant quality standards - BRC
Key skills & experience
• Excellent communication skills – ability to deal with people at all levels, internally and externally, with the credibility to make a significant impact within the business.
• Continual experience in food safety related environment
• Auditing experience

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and FMS & WMS
