We are currently recruiting for a Despatch Operative at our Manchester site. The post holder will porter finished goods into bulk storage ensuring stock rotation is maintained, accurately pick stock for outbound deliveries and load within a timely manner, to achieve daily operations targets and maintain GMP standards.

Your challenge

In this role the key responsibilities will include:

• Scanning of product onto the system using a hand scanner and moving stock into the bulk storage area or trailer

• Stock rotation – Monitoring product quality, highlighting non-conformance and taking appropriate corrective action through escalation

• Picking and loading in order to achieve/exceed daily KPI targets

• Accountable for the management and use of their equipment whilst using it (Scanners/MHE)

• Ensure good manufacturing, housekeeping, hygiene, and health and safety standards throughout the shift

• Be part of an effective hand over between shifts, remaining in the coldstore until a relief takes over

• Complete all documentation, ensuring up to date and available

• Train operators, ensuring competence to perform allocated jobs

• Leads by example, encouraging appropriate behavioural safety and technical standards in support of the company values and culture

• Able to carry out tasks requested by WMS coordinator and Team Leader

• Comply with food safety requirements and effectively control CCP's and adhere to site quality procedures

• Not to misuse or interfere with anything provided in the interest of health and safety

• Carry out any other duties that are within the employers skills and abilities whenever reasonably instructed

Key skills & experience

• Flexible approach, able to adapt to challenging daily production plans

• Able to demonstrate initiative and prioritisation skills

• Effective team worker

• Previous despatch/coldstore work is desirable, though not necessary

• Good listener/communicator
