We are recruiting for an enthusiastic .NET developer to become an important member of our team

THE POSITION:

This is an exciting opportunity for a mid level developer to grow with the team to become an experienced online application developer and to help expand delivery capabilities of a growing and dynamic company based in Southampton. The role requires a bright, imaginative, and capable technologist to collaborate with our lead .NET developers and the MTM design and development team, where their potential will grow through working on exciting and challenging web and app projects.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborating with our project development team to determine needs and applying / customizing existing technology to meet those needs
  • Maintaining and supporting multiple projects and deadlines
  • Recording work progress on a weekly basis
  • Producing development documentation

SKILLS:

  • A good understanding and some ability to complete all phases of software development life cycle including analysis, design, functionality, testing and support
  • to have an understanding and some ability to develop large-scale web/database applications
  • the ability to work on multiple projects with multiple deadlines
  • ability to communicate clearly with your development manager
  • a growing ability to innovate and provide functional applications with intuitive interfaces
  • ability to produce user guides and documentation
  • project management skills
  • to have a good understanding and some CMS Skills (EServer 7.5/8)
  • good knowledge of Transact SQL
  • great .Net Skills (OOP, OOD)
  • a willingness and passion to gain knowledge and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS & RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven qualification and experience with Microsoft .NET technologies including, ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, EF
  • languages: C#, VB.Net, SQL/T-SQL
  • certainly a good knowledge and possibly some front end experience desirable (JS, CSS, HTML)
  • knowledge and some experience developing websites using a Content Management System (EpiServer CMS 7.5/8), Desirable.
  • knowledge and understanding of backend software design in SQL Server 2000 or 2005, Stored procedures, ASP.NET, VB.NET, C#
  • an understanding of good coding practices and principles, SOLID, YAGNI, KISS etc
  • a good understanding of design patterns.

SALARY:

  • £35k - £45K depending on experience
