Textile Internship - Weaving studio

Job description

Weave internship available in a textile studio specialising in woven textiles (ongoing with a view for full-time design position).

Duties: Assisting with preparing and designing for both in-house and client collections. Weaving is both on loom and CAD designed (on a specialised woven software). Training on software will be given but an understanding of using a loom/weaving essential. You will be designing, analysing fabrics, colour matching and preparing the collection for trade shows. You will also be helping setting up the loom and expand your interest and knowledge in weaving.

Skills: An understanding of the weaving and the process is essential. You must also have a good sense for colour, current trends, be committed and keen to learn, pro-active with the ability to work with the team as well as fulfilling tasks independently.

You must have your own accommodation in London. Travel expenses and lunch paid.

Desired profile

A textile degree completed or ongoing (specialising in woven textiles) or equivalent experience.
