We've got a great opportunity for a Product Expert (in Manufacturing) to join the team at our fresh produce site in Thrapston . Reporting to the Technical Manager, you’ll manage raw material stock and ensure it’s used in an appropriate manner to deliver best quality to our customers.

The ideal Product Expert will have a Quality or Technical background. Typically the role involves supporting production colleagues packing product, providing the Buyer and Technologist with detailed insight on quality of raw materials, influencing stock volumes and usage, flagging potential issues, supporting the interpretation of specifications and contributing to category reviews.

Morrisons Produce acquired Thrapston in 2004 and added the purpose built distribution warehouse the following year. The site has a three shift operation, with over 800 colleagues. There are 137 SKUs including Melon, Citrus Fruit, Leeks, Tomatoes, Apples and Nuts. 185 million packs of fruits and 27 million packs of nuts are produced each year.

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful Product Expert?

· A passion for ensuring customers experience great quality products everytime
· Ability to influence others and to champion product quality decisions
· Good stakeholder management & communication skills
· Ideally experience working in the Fresh Produce / Horticulture industry
· Top fruit knowledge would be great but not essential
· A good working knowledge of quality systems
· The ability to review supplier capability and implement approval plans as required
