We have a fantastic opportunity for a People Assistant to join out Fresh Produce Manufacturing site in Rushden . This is a permanent, part-time vacancy to work Monday to Friday, 10am to 3pm daily . The successful People Assistant will have flexibility to occasionally adjust working hours to support business needs. Reporting to the People Advisor, you will provide people, payroll and administrative support to the People team. This is an ideal developmental role for somebody who is looking to progress their career within HR.

Morrisons added our Rushden produce site to the estate in 2005. The site produces 31 SKU's ranging from pickling onions to Brussel sprouts. The packhouse covers 117,000 sq ft. on over 9.5 acres of land and delivers to over 198 stores via three of our Morrisons owned Regional Distribution Centres.

Here at Morrisons our People Assistants do the following:

•Be the first point of contact for foundation level site People queries, consistently providing excellent customer service.
•Offering HR expertise and advice to Site Colleagues and managers as necessary
•Providing administrative support to the HR team
•Ensure payroll administration is accurate and all colleagues get paid correctly and on time
•Maintaining records, files and spreadsheets in line with data protection legislation
•Ad-hoc analysis and reporting on HR issues
Coordinating weekly HR audit checks
•Supporting the recruitment process for the site as required
•Becoming a subject matter expert on company HR policies, ensuring the site remains fully compliant at all times.
•Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues
•Develop engaging, proactive communications across the site
•Build positive and effective relationships with unions, agency suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders
•Support and drive colleague engagement on site

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful People Assistant?

•Ability to work in a fast paced People environment, manufacturing experience would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
•A proactive, positive approach to work with a true customer focus
•The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
•Exposure to PeopleSoft, Emp Centre or similar HR Systems would be advantageous
•Excellent all-round IT skills, including Advanced Microsoft Excel
•Ideally working towards CIPD or equivalent and a basic up to date knowledge of employment legislation
•Experience of advising and supporting colleagues and managers with foundation level people queries (eg. Absence/ Pay/ Conduct etc
•An understanding of HR policies and practices
•Proactive approach to own continuous development
•Experience of implementing processes
•Ability to act on own initiative
