We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a HR Assistant (People Assistant) at our Meat Manufacturing site in Turriff, Aberdeenshire . Reporting to the People Advisor, you will provide people, payroll and administrative support to the People team. This is an ideal developmental role for somebody who is looking to progress their career within HR.

Woodheads Turriff became part of Morrisons Manufacturing in 2005 after the site was acquired from Kepak the previous owners. The site is a dual species plant - beef and lamb. Turriff also produces a range of frozen retail burgers and minced products ready for the shelf. The site has grown significantly in the past 10 years and now currently employs over 340 people across the site. Our beef and lamb products are shipped directly from Turriff directly into our distribution network supplying quality beef and lamb to our butchers in store across the UK.

Here at Morrisons our People Assistants do the following:

·  Be the first point of contact for foundation level site People queries, consistently providing excellent customer service.
·  Offering HR expertise and advice to Site Colleagues and managers as necessary
·  Providing administrative support to the HR team
·  Ensure payroll administration is accurate and all colleagues get paid correctly and on time
·  Maintaining records, files and spreadsheets in line with data protection legislation
·  Ad-hoc analysis and reporting on HR issues
·  Coordinating weekly HR audit checks
·  Supporting the recruitment process for the site as required
·  Becoming a subject matter expert on company HR policies, ensuring the site remains fully compliant at all times
·  Support, coach and challenge line management with absence, disciplinary and grievance issues
·  Develop engaging, proactive communications across the site
·  Build positive and effective relationships with unions, agency suppliers, colleagues and stakeholders
·  Support and drive colleague engagement on site

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful People Assistant?

·  Ability to work in a fast paced People environment, manufacturing experience would be advantageous, but isn’t essential
·  A proactive, positive approach to work with a true customer focus
·  The ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
·  Exposure to Peoplesoft, Emp Centre or similar HR Systems would be advantageous
·  Excellent all-round IT skills, including Advanced Microsoft Excel
·  Ideally working towards CIPD or equivalent and a basic up to date knowledge of employment legislation
·  Experience of advising and supporting colleagues and managers with foundation level people queries (eg. Absence/ Pay/ Conduct etc)
·  An understanding of HR policies and practices
·  Proactive approach to own continuous development
·  Experience of implementing processes
·  Ability to act on own initiative
