We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Engineering Planner to join the Engineering team at our Deeside - Farmers Boy site, Deeside. Reporting to the Engineering Team Manager, you will work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all preventative maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption. The shifts will be 5/7 predominantly Monday to Friday 7-4pm 48 hours, however, there would be a need for flexibility to work weekends with new projects coming in .
Deeside Engineering, is a key provider of engineering excellence support to the produce division of Morrisons Manufacturing. The site is undergoing an exciting period of change and is expanding the department to provide structural support as part of our site asset care programme. Here at Morrisons our Engineering Planners do the following;
As a core member of the Engineering Team, you will take responsibility for Engineering Work Planning & Control, across all assets located inside the site boundary (inclusive of utilities and infrastructure assets). Through preparation, communication and delivery of a weekly maintenance plan, you will ensure that technical resources (internal labour and external contracts) are efficiently utilised and deployed, resulting in assets that are ready to produce when required by production for the benefit of our customers. Specifically you will:
· Lead & develop an advance weekly maintenance plan, maximising efficient utilisation of available resources (people, materials, equipment).
· Lead longer term horizon planning which is matched to the needs of production plans – further driving efficient use of resources
· Assume responsibility as CMMS Master Data owner and CMMS Super User/System Champion – training colleagues in use of the system
· Analyze performance data held within the CMMS to help drive continuous improvement activity across the engineering department – both from the perspective of improving the effectiveness of planned maintenance activities as well as the efficiency with which it is executed.
· Act with integrity at all times to build a culture of professional engineering and proactive equipment-focussed continuous improvement skills
What do I need to be a successful Engineering Planner?
· Broad engineering background with experience of manufacturing and or food production
· Technical understanding-Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Mechanical, Electrical & PLC/Inverter Assets
· Experience of setting up and managing engineering planning processes and reports
· Strong experience in managing safe working and ensuring safe systems of work are followed
· Experience of risk assessing maintenance activity and controlling safe working practices
· Knowledge of Statutory Compliance obligations and Health & Safety at Work Act
· Experience and knowledge of Lean and Asset Care Excellence techniques – particularly CMMS
· Knowledge of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) Systems
· Knowledge and set-up of Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
