We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a Data Analyst to join the Information Technology team at Hilmore House, Bradford. Reporting to the Head of Information Strategy, you will focus on collecting and studying data to identify business improvement opportunities and support business change. The role identifies and interprets patterns & trends, assessing data quality and eliminating irrelevant data. During their analysis, the Data Analyst might involve SMEs to ensure the right business context is set. It will be part of our Information Management and Improvement Team. Morrisons manages data across a number of Data Subject Areas: Product, Supplier, Location, People, Customer, Availability, Manufacturing, Finance and Corporate. These cross organisational boundaries and the role will work across all of these Data Subject Areas

Here at Morrisons our Data Analyst do the following;

·  The role will have the following responsibilities to support our goal of creating a Trusted Data Source:
·  Taking a number of inputs (for example Data
·  Quality analysis, business change proposals) and understanding what data analysis is required to provide direction to the business
·  Working closely with the business to understand business context
·  Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
·  Develop and implement data collection systems and strategies
·  Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources
·  Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques
·  Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
·  Providing expert advice and guidance across the organisation – taking a preventative role to address future problems resulting from poor data design and management
·  Keeping track of emerging data management trends and technologies
·  Working with suppliers, vendors and industry

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful Data Analyst?

·  Data Analyst experience operating within Data Management functions of similar organisations
·  Experience in working on large­scale, distributed architectures
·  Proven track record of taking responsibility for data architect decisions and assurance across complex changes
·  Experience in a range of data analysis tools and techniques
·  Experience in the following will be desirable:
·  Oracle database technology
·  Relational and Non­relational persistence layers
·  PaaS based data warehouse solutions (e.g Google Bigquery, Amazon Redshift)
·  Data security, privacy and retention
·  Business Intelligence
·  Data Quality measurement and improvement
