We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Designer to join the Nutmeg team at our head office in Coalville. You will assist in the design, development and sampling of a range of product that is in line with our design department strategy. You will help us to anticipate and exceed our customer’s expectations, alongside developing effective working relationships with internal colleagues and suppliers.

Here at Nutmeg our Assistant Designers do the following;
• Actively contribute to the design and buying departments strategy, range builds and sign off meetings.
• Communicate with the relevant teams to provide awareness of inspiration and emerging trends and colours.
• Help to produce comprehensive, completed and finalised design packs for use by the buying team and suppliers.
• Help to produce design thumbnails for each story within the department.
• Assist with any administrative support and meeting preparations as required.

What skills and qualifications do I need to be a successful Assistant Designer
• Degree or equivalent in a fashion related subject- e.g. graphics/fashion/textiles
• Cad skills- trained in photoshop & illustrator
• Market and trend awareness, including catwalks and shows
• Good eye for trend & colour - needs to be passionate about design
• Experience in womenswear design
• Motivated, organised and good at multi tasking with a willingness to support other departments.
