Department Profile:
SSBO provides utility processing services to Global Operations. By functionalizing processes across segments, SSBO realizes efficiencies through scale, location strategy and adoption of best practices. SSBO provides quality operational core processes at an optimal price point, with maximum benefit to MS business lines. Services currently provided by SSBO include Cash Management, OTC Derivative and Security Settlements, Position Services, Reconciliations, Tax, Client Reference Data, Network Management and Vendor Management.

Primary Responsibilities:
This is a high profile opportunity to support day to day delivery and the ongoing development of SSBO's risk and control framework, with the candidate having responsibility for collation and oversight of risk reporting for SSBO globally.

The role responsibilities will include the oversight, production, management and reporting of daily, weekly and monthly risk metrics, as well as the preparation of weekly / monthly functional, regional and global risk reports.

Responsibilities will also include;
- Coordination and reporting of Cross-Operations risk programs such as Segregation of Duties and Entitlements reviews
- Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSA)
- Risk Incident tracking (Recap)
- Action Plan tracking
- Collection of commentaries for various risk metrics
- End-User Computing Assessments
- BCP deliverables
- Policy & Procedure Exception Management.

This list of responsibilities will alter depending on the Federal and Operations Risk agenda year on year.

In addition, whilst a number of controls exist across Operations to support the Global Banks, this role as part of the global team will be responsible for documenting these controls, and ensuring there is a measurable level of oversight, validation and verification for key controls on the Banks. This role is to support this program to perform the validation and testing function, appropriately document results and take appropriate actions to help Operations teams improve ineffective controls. The role will also serve to analyze new controls to be onboarded into the program, and successfully onboard testing for those controls.

The candidate will primarily interface with the SSBO Risk Managers, Operations Risk & Control team (ORC) and Reporting, Analysis & Metrics team (RAM).

EMEA Only
As part of SSBO, this position may also be responsible for a wide variety of supervisory, compliance and risk functions related to Operations locations in 8 locations across Europe and the Middle East including 6 Broker Dealers and 3 locally regulated banks as part of EMEA Branch Ops and EMEA IWM Ops. This role also may require involvement in testing and validation globally, including US Banks. The Risk Management Associate operates independently and keeps the Head of EMEA Branch Ops informed of significant compliance and risk matters engaging other stakeholders as and when required EMEA Branch Ops Risk Management Associate must be able to make risk based assessments that have a dual reporting line to the Head of EMEA Branch Ops and Global Bank Risk Management Associate.

Travel is required for this position.

Skills Desired:
- Understanding of Operations and Bank framework, regulations, and legal entities
- In-depth understanding of technical risk and control environments
- Legal or regulatory experience a plus
- Previous work in an Operational line role and/or product area
