The Detail Sub ledger (DSL) team is building the next generation of Morgan Stanley's firm-wide books and records and control architecture. This is a multi-year, cross-functional program that will significantly advance the firm's capabilities in risk management, P&L and balance sheet substantiation, regulatory reporting, and many other areas. As part of this initiative, a global development team will be responsible for the design, development, and rollout of the strategic DSL platform. The primary business sponsors are Finance, Operations, and Risk, with significant stakes being held by the front office businesses.

You will be technically proficient developer who is keen to learn new technologies and will be responsible for development of new application components as well as improving existing components within the DSL system. We follow an agile development methodology, with particular focus on test driven development and continuous integration. You will be working a lot with remote teams as this role will require frequent communication with development teams in New York, London, Budapest, and Mumbai

The role requires strong technical and analytical skills. The candidate should be proficient in object oriented development and have experience in modern C#/.Net for UI development. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to understand complex business problems and requirements, an aptitude for translating these problems into workable designs and solutions, and will possess a keen eye for detail.

Skills Required

·  Experience with object-oriented software development
·  Experience with modern SDLC methodologies, including Agile processes
·  Experience with C#/.Net (WPF) 3-tier application development (client/server/db)
·  Solid RDBMS and SQL knowledge
·  Familiarity with IDEs (Visual Studio)
·  Familiarity with XML or other markup languages
·  PRISM, MEF, n Unity
·  A generalist with demonstrated abilities in specific areas and a strong ability to deliver reliably
·  Excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Self-motivated individual and creative thinker who will take ownership of tasks and projects, able to work with the global team, and manage time and tasks effectively and independently.

Skills Desired

·  Core Java, J2SE, Spring
·  Experience with a scripting language; Perl preferred
·  Experience in the financial industry
·  Exposure to data warehouse models and design
·  Database performance tuning (DB2 preferred)
