Divisional Profile

The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Firm's equity Sales & Trading operations provide liquidity, distribute content, and create product solutions to help our clients generate alpha. The Equity Financing Products department acts as a strategic partner to more than 800 top hedge fund managers: executing and clearing trades across asset classes, time zones, and currencies; providing financing and expertise to help manage risk and benefit from technology; and consults to help launch new funds and connect with them potential investors.

Morgan Stanley is looking to recruit an individual into the Delta One Strats team in London.

Responsibilities:

• The role covers asset types Stock, ETFs & Futures

• The role is based in EU covering the local EU business

• A desk strat sits on the trading desk and is actively engaged in the day to day flow.

• Working closely with Sales & Trading to evolve new structures, a desk strat provides tools for analysis, highly customized client solutions and new business opportunities.

• This diverse role will expose the successful candidate to all aspects of the business (trading, risk management, P&L and client service).

• Focus is on quantitative analysis, backtesting and deployment of trading strategies.

Desired profile

Skills required
• The position is suited to a candidate with a strong quantitative analysis and coding background looking to move closer to the business. An academic background in finance and mathematics would be beneficial.
• The successful candidate will need to be self-disciplined and commercial to manage the competing demands on their time and deliver value.
• Experience in the following areas would be advantageous:
• Technical: KDB, Java, R, Python, Mosek
• Business: Equities
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• A undergraduate degree or equivalent
