Job description

Moreton Smith is an award-winning debt collection agency looking for a legal recoveries officer to join its successful legal recoveries team and to manage a caseload of international legal collections.

Key Responsibilities:

Tasks will involve managing your own case load of UK and overseas debts on behalf of a number of corporate clients, across a range of industry sectors. You will be responsible for recommending suitable debt recovery methods, including pre-legal, legal and ADR. You will build strong working relationships with clients, advising on international collections decisions from a strong commercial perspective. You will manage supplier relationships, using agencies and lawyers to progress your cases through to a conclusion.

Job Description:

To manage your own case load of UK and overseas debts on behalf of a number of corporate clients, across a range of industry sectors.
To recommend suitable debt recovery methods, including pre-legal, legal and ADR.
To build strong working relationships with clients, advising on international collections decisions from a strongly commercial perspective.
To manage supplier relationships with agencies and lawyers
To source new suppliers and agree terms of business
To proactively progress your cases through to a conclusion.
To respond to general client inquiries and provide advice as required
Any other relevant duties

Qualifications, skills and experience:

Suitable candidates will have a minimum of 6 months experience in debt recovery or litigation and will have a law degree. Additional language skills would be an advantage. You will be a pro-active individual with strong client care skills. You will be able to advise on commercial debt recovery matters and enjoy working in a target-driven environment.
