An opportunity is currently available at the Scarborough Bakery for a Day Shift Quality Supervisor. This position will oversee quality and sanitation programs and TPM (IL6S) work processes in a stimulating, fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Reporting directly to the Quality Systems Manager, this position will coordinate, implement and maintain the Mondelēz Quality Chain Management System (QCMS), Sanitation and HACCP programs utilizing Quality Maintenance Pillar (IL6S or TPM) work processes to develop and maintain a word-class Quality System.
* Day-to-day activities include assessing daily issues with raw materials, in-process and finished goods, troubleshooting production issues, hold and release of out of spec materials/WIP/FG, scheduling for periodic cleaning, resourcing for allergen changeover, and communication of issues to manufacturing, the corrections and corrective actions.
* Coordinate, execute and maintain all aspects of the HACCP plan and QCMS (plant relevant Quality Policies) in conjunction with Quality Manager, quality/sanitation teams and other plant teams including:
1.Coordinates Environmental Monitoring Program, Hold and Release program and other key QP elements working with plant teams or corporate stakeholders.
2.Coordinates traceability assessments and mock recalls, reviewing findings and implementing any required corrective actions
3.Ensures document change management is maintained using e-QCMS
4.Interfaces with procurement, corporate, R&D, suppliers, and external analytical labs to ensure QP requirements are maintained
5.Executes and coordinates internal audit schedules and conducting Quality System audits to ensure compliance to company standards and CAPA compliance
6.Leads and supports Quality and Sanitation personnel
7.Maintains and continuously improves the site Quality Suite capability
8.Manages, coordinates and schedules the sanitation crew to ensure compliance with MDLZ sanitation standards. Weekly LIS approvals are required.
9.Provides training to plant employees on quality /sanitation equipment and systems
10.Acts as a key participant in product trials and FPA’s
11.Acts as a key participant in plant audits: internal, corporate, FSSC, FSMA (FDA) and Corporate Quality driven HACCP verification, validation and re-analysis
12.Backfills the Quality Manager during his/her absence
13.Participates as a member of the Quality Management Pillar and assists the Pillar Leader in the process and data management of QM pillar standard work processes including:
•Working on QM pillar work processes and Steps through the phases by participating on key plant activities and providing inputs in other pillar activities especially AM, PM, E&T, FI, HSE etc.
•Coordinating Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA), PPM defect data collection or SPC training to plant teams
•Participating in Daily Management Systems (DMS) meetings as mandated, updating KAI/KPI achievements on plant and regional trackers
•Participating on other site pillar teams as required
•Helping with Capability building in conjunction with multiple stakeholders
14.Working on special projects as required due to urgent business demands eg: plant productivity projects in conjunction with Engineering, R&D etc.
15.Additional duties as assigned.
Desired profile
Qualifications
•University degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry
•2-3 years previous manufacturing experience with troubleshooting skills cutting across processes i.e. 4 M’s (Man, Material, Method, Machine)
•Exposure to Lean manufacturing, TPM or Continuous Improvement
•Experience working with quality/food safety management systems i.e. HACCP, QCMS, Quality Policies, FSSC etc.
•Excellent problem solving skills using tools like Root Cause Analysis, 5 WHY etc
•Critical: Must have advanced level computer skills: Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint), Quality Suite and SAP
•Flexible to work on of shifts (afternoon/midnight/weekends) based on business needs
•Familiarity with Minitab, LIS (SAP based), Enablon would be an asset
•Previous experience supervising personnel would be an asset
