Our Internships are 12 months long, although can be flexible with this role,  and during your placement, we’ll make you an integral part of our team and give you a real job – with real responsibilities – from day one. We hope to help you expand your horizons and encourage your personal and professional development.
 
We want to make sure you get the most from your time with us. That’s why once you join we’ll work out ambitious but achievable goals for you. Then through the support of a buddy and regular reviews with your manager, we’ll help you achieve them.  
  
As a designer in the chocolate category, you will be working on everything from new product or packaging concepts, mock-ups to ideas that revolutionise the world of chocolate. We are looking for an intern who has a passion for great product [industrial] design and a keen interest in product or packaging trends, a designer who is familiar with manufacturing principles and endeavour to strike a balance between aesthetics and manufacturability when you generate and develop ideas. The following types of work are key focus to the placement:
 
·         CAD Modelling     
·         Concept Visualisations – CAD & Sketching
·         Prototyping
 
We have RD&Q centres supporting Mondelēz International research and innovation in 2 UK locations, these roles are in Bournville in Birmingham for the Chocolate Category.
 
The Roles
 
Packaging Graphic Design
During your placement, you will get to experience total project management,packaging technology and design. As a creative and pro-active intern, you will be given broad exposure to the world of chocolate packaging and the chance to apply your design skills in a friendly, fast-paced working environment.  You will develop packaging using appropriate software packages, prototypes, 2D designs to support the Global Chocolate Packaging team throughout the creative elements of a wide variety of projects.

Desired profile

 
Essential Candidate Requirements 
 

Studying towards a Graphic Design related degree
Predicted 2:1 or above (or equivilant) final degree classification
Naturally inquisitive and passionate about design excellence
Knowledge of 3D CAD software (Solidworks & Rhino are preferred)
Open to acquiring new skills and able to demonstrate strong creative, communication and presentation abilities
Pro-active, highly motivated, ready to take on new responsibilities and build strong relationships
Excellent sketching and visualisation skills
Good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. Knowledge of Adobe In-design is also preferred.  Ability to use both PC and MAC
Experience of working well in a team is essential
