Microsoft Teams is a new chat-based collaboration app that is changing how people work together. We’re working to make Teams the best communication tool for every kind of team - big, small, casual, serious - teams that are strictly business, just for fun, or a little of both.
We’re looking for a talented illustrator and designer to help us infuse delight, charm, and expressiveness into our product. How can we bring a smile to your face at just the right time? Primary responsibilities:
• Create illustrations to use throughout the product - in places like empty states and first-run experiences.
• Design and produce animated images, emojis, and stickers that people can use to express themselves to each other.
• Design icons, adhering to an overall icon style, to be used in the UI for wayfinding and actions Find opportunities in the product to show some wit and charm through imagery, motion, or language.
• Contribute to the evolution of the Microsoft Teams design patterns and personality Iterate on options to find the right balance of aesthetic tone, effectiveness, and appropriateness.
• Advocate for your design solutions by putting them in context of business and user goals.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
• Minimum 3 years’ professional experience in graphic design, with an emphasis in graphic illustration, branding, or icon design.
• A portfolio demonstrating an ability to artfully distill complex ideas into simple, delightful, expressive, graphic illustrations.
• Familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.
• BA or BFA degree in Illustration, Graphic Design, or related fields. Awareness of trends in communication, collaboration, and user interface design.
