Microsoft has recently significantly expanded its efforts in artificial intelligence, creating the 5000+ person Artificial Intelligence and Research team

Microsoft Research in Cambridge is a vital part of that team, with a wealth of experience and expertise in computer vision, machine learning, systems, interaction, and software engineering, and has a strong track record of shipping ground-breaking technologies in Microsoft products including Xbox, Kinect and HoloLens.  

The team is growing, and we are looking for exceptionally talented machine intelligence researchers and engineers: people who have strong backgrounds in research and/or engineering; people who love to create and build new technology that can be deployed to millions of users worldwide.  

Applicants:  

Must be passionate about incubating new ideas, solving problems, and building working systems.  

Must be self-motivated, proven collaborators, good communicators, attentive to details, and keen to learn.  

Must have practical experience working in an academic or industrial research environment.  

Applicants for research positions should hold a PhD in machine learning or a related field.  

Applicants for engineering positions should have proven relevant experience.  

Should have hands-on experience working on at least one of the following:

o Computer vision

o Deep learning and neural networks

o Reinforcement learning

o Probabilistic modelling  

Should have strong mathematical skills.
