Job description
COME AS YOU ARE, DO WHAT YOU LOVE
Technical Evangelist
Do you love technology? Do you want to make companies more successful by applying technology? Do you enjoy helping people to understand technology and trends? If so, then we have the job for you. We are looking for someone with a passion for technology to join the Microsoft UK Developer Experience and Evangelism (DX) team.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has defined our mission to empower every individual and organization to do more in the cloud first, mobile first world. We have three bold ambitions: to create more personal computing, to reinvent productivity and business processes, and to build the intelligent cloud that will be at the heart of this empowerment. All of us in the Developer Experience team come to work to inspire people and help them to build the software that will empower everyone and every organisation to do more.
As a Technical Evangelist (TE) you will be working with developers, assisting them with the technical guidance, information and the inspiration they need to be successful. You’ll be offering technical assistance, delivering presentations and webinars, and writing code as well as helping to shape a successful team. You’ll be anchored in helping developers build successful products using the most current and emerging technologies.
To thrive as a TE you will build and deepen technical skill and share that knowledge to help others. Loving the complexity, uncertainty and constant change of our environment, you see ambiguity as an opportunity to lead and set direction. You’ll be collaborating with some brilliantly clever and inspirational people, and your constant thirst to learn and grow and take risks will make you successful. You’ll be able to connect the dots between different technologies and the various parts of our business to scale the impact you have. Above all you’ll need to be inspired, and inspire others, by the potential of technology.
The role is based at the Microsoft Campus in Reading, and while you will need to spend some time on campus, you will also do some travelling to our London offices in Paddington, to events in other locations and to meet with companies across the UK. We embrace flexible working as a core principle of reinventing productivity, and you’ll be welcome to work from home, our offices around the country, customer sites or your favourite coffee shop next to the gym – wherever is best for you to get your job done.
Microsoft is an equal opportunity employer and embraces workforce diversity. We have an international work environment that is characterized by flexibility and an informal culture. We invest in your health, wellness and financial future by offering a competitive package including a wide range of benefits built around your personal needs and those of others close to you.
If you want to chat informally about the role please get in touch.
