Azure Storage SDK team is hiring! Have you ever imagined a world with infinite amounts of storage available and accessible to everyone? Everyone in the world can easily access their books/music/photos/video/any data from anywhere in the world at any time via any means (e.g. mobile phones, tablets, PCs, smart devices, etc). Did you ever desire a universally accessible storage system to record the all knowledge known to mankind, to keep all the books/music/videos ever created, or to store all the data collected from all the scientists in the world for them to collaborate upon? If so, Microsoft Azure Storage SDK team is what you are looking for. We are building Microsoft’s cloud storage solution SDK to empower developers, ISVs, Enterprise and communities to build their best apps against Azure Storage. You will be helping us build SDK libraries, public tooling and awesome experience around the different Azure Storage products such as Azure Blob, Azure Table (no-SQL store), Azure Queue, File/SMB Storage, with more to come.

We are looking for engineers who are passionate about building an amazing developer experience for our customers. You get goose bumps when you see a perfectly designed API that is easy to use, simple and performant. You get excited about open source projects. You want to work on a team that believes in their product and puts their entire being into making it successful.  

You are:

   

• Open Minded: you have an opinion, but aren’t opinionated.  

• A great software designer.

• We aren’t overly concerned with your CS101 skills, but you must show that you are disciplined and care about creating high-quality software.  

• Deeply knowledgeable with at least 1 popular programming language (Node.js, PHP, Python, Android, Objective-C/Swift, Go, C++, C, C# or Java). You don’t need to know them all, but you should be really good with one!  

Personable and positive: we want people with a high emotional intelligence. You genuinely like people and understand they aren’t perfect-you have the patience to work through difficult issues.   Passionate about the Cloud and want to make developing applications for it easier.  

Requirements:

 

• 3+ years of experience as a software developer. You must be a coder.  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.  

Nice to have:

 

Open source experience: you have an active GitHub account and GitHub flow (clone, fork, commit, push, pull requests) is second nature to you.

Alternatively, you may be a regular contributor to a repository that you care about or you are the main contributor of your own.    

Developer platform experience: You have created an API, SDK or complete developer ecosystem. You have a passion for beautiful APIs and know what it takes to develop an experience that developers love.   Complete understanding of REST and how to build a beautiful API around it.
