Software Developer Engineer - Timisoara

The Bing development team in Timisoara is focused on improving key parts of Bing Local and Maps using Machine Learning and Information Retrieval techniques. Deep interactions with research, incubation projects, Big Data systems, scalable online services, relevance measurements and data mining are just some of the topics that keep this team busy.

We are looking for a passionate, creative, self-starting Software Developer who thrives in a busy environment where you will be required to engage in multiple simultaneous projects. You will be expected to work on many levels - from evaluating new techniques by defining the metrics to measure their effectiveness, identifying opportunities through data mining, evaluating the results of A/B experiments, to the design and implementation of your techniques into our offline and live production systems.

Your coding skills will be challenged writing scalable, distributed and highly efficient components.

Desired profile

Qualifications:

•      BSc, M.Sc, M.Eng, or PhD, in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Statistics and related subjects.

•      2+ years of experience with a solid track record

•      Solid coding skills in C#, F#, Java, R, C, Python or similar languages, multi-threading, web services, performance and scalability concepts.

•      Strong theory/algorithmic background and very good understanding on how to apply advanced knowledge to solve real problems

•      Big data and machine learning related experience is a plus

•      Excellent communication and collaboration skills
