Qualifications for this post-doc include a strong academic record in optical engineering or relevant technical area. Applicants must have completed the requirements for a PhD, including submission of their thesis, prior to joining Microsoft Research.

We are currently seeking applicants in the field of optical communications engineering. The ideal candidate will have completed a PhD in optical communications engineering and will have demonstrated an ability, to independently carry out experimental research on optical communication systems and to publish in top-tier journals and conferences. The candidate should have expertise in: modelling of optical devices, subsystems and systems; design and development of digital signal processing algorithms for digital optical communications systems; design, implementation and control of experimental optical communications systems testbeds.
