Job purpose and overview:

Microsoft Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) is looking for a highly-motivated corporate affairs manager to join our EU Government Affairs (EUGA) team. The candidate will join a team driving outreach and engagement on a range of public policy issues, including security, privacy, and cloud policy.

The candidate will be responsible for CELA event and meeting management and execution for the Microsoft Centre in Brussels. The Microsoft Centre in Brussels hosts the Executive Briefing Centre, Microsoft Policy Centre, and Microsoft Innovation Centre. It is a high-tech meeting facility showcasing Microsoft’s latest technology solutions and devices. The Microsoft Centre provides a venue for CELA to convene EU policy decision-makers and thought-leaders through conferences, briefings, community programs, and social engagements. Responsibilities of the position include: developing a schedule of events; planning, managing, and executing CELA events and meetings; providing support for other Microsoft Brussels programming needs; and other projects as needed.

Specific responsibilities of the position include:

- Develop and execute a plan that leverages the Microsoft Centre to serve as a convener for EU policy decision-makers and thought-leaders through conferences, briefings, community programs, and social engagements, as well as showcase Microsoft technologies.

- Work with Microsoft Centre staff and external vendors to manage all end-to-end event logistics.

-Ensure strategic objectives are defined for each event and meeting.

-Oversee event planning, execution, evaluation, and continuous process improvement.

-Ensure coordination of all support services: vendors, production, facility, catering.

-Ensure operating objectives of service contractors and vendors are achieved.

-Coordinate event designs and creative direction.

-Determine technical production requirements to enhance the space for maximum impact (e.g., audio/visual, lighting).

-Help to identify and secure event sponsors and/or co-hosts as needed.

-Help to identify and secure event speakers as needed.

-Effectively partner with internal stakeholders on execution of event promotion and outreach.

-Help to coordinate event invitations and optimize a contacts database.

-Support the development and execution of other internal or external programming needs, which may include Skype Meetings, and leverage real-time collaboration and communication tools.

-Ensure adherence to programs budget and relevant policies.

-Support other projects as needs arise (e.g., program planning and logistics for internal and external visits).

Required candidate qualifications:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with event planning and/or project management; public relations experience helpful.

-Exceptional attention to detail.

-Strong project and time management skills.

-Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with a diverse set of stakeholders.

-Strong communication skills.

-A passion for developing and leading in-person event experiences.

-Full professional proficiency in both French and English.
