This opportunity is in Junction City, KS Ag Track facility, located between Salina and Manhattan in the heart of Northeastern, KS. With the current expansion we will be one of the best automated and tech savvy facilities in the region serving the ever-growing agriculture industry. THE OPPORTUNITY:

Michelin has an immediate opening for an IT Technician who will be responsible for supporting the IT systems within the Junction City facility. Michelin’s purpose is to support everyone’s right to move freely to find their better way forward.  In this role the ideal candidate will be very responsive to the internal customers ensuring the availability of the IT systems within the facility so that all departments have access to the information and tools that they need to effectively perform their responsibilities.  If respect for people, teamwork and trust are some values you live by you should consider joining us, the Worldwide leader in Tires!

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Respond to IT failures by applying sound troubleshooting techniques to quickly identify the root cause of issues and restore service.

Take responsibility for administrative functions on IT systems including patching, software updates, account reviews, adding and removing users, keeping an up-to-date comprehensive inventory of IT system components etc.

Provide and maintain up to date documentation for IT systems.

Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure, switches, servers, clients etc.

Lead IT projects, including new installations, modification of existing equipment and systems, to support business processes. This will be accomplished by interfacing with various contractors, suppliers, facility craftsmen and corporate resources.

Support the successful deployment of capital projects as part of a cross functional team.

Drive progress as part of the IT team by continuously improving our IT practices and policies.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING:

Manufacturing and management experience is a definite plus.

Technical skills: A good understanding of networks, switches, vlans, firewalls, fiber, cat 6 cabling and wireless devices. Client/Server connected systems, automated backup solutions, end point protection, AD accounts and authentication.

Troubleshooting skills: Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills with the ability to find the root cause of issues and apply effective lasting repairs.

Effective Communication skills: Ability to clearly communicate, to the intended audience, the information necessary, to make informed decisions about IT systems, in order to maintain the run.

Continuous learning mindset: Ability and desire to learn new systems quickly, find relevant information quickly and apply it to a solution.   

Knowledge transfer: In this team environment it is vital to share and transfer information within the team to strengthen everyone’s proficiency and expertise.

 3-5 years professional IT experience required, degree in computer engineering  or similar preferred.
