THE OPPORTUNITY

The Lead Software Engineer leads a development team and is responsible for defining and implementing designs, builds and deployments of information systems to support business stakes.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Team performance:

·  Continuously demonstrates Agile & Lean values like integrity, collaboration, transparency, courage, and humility to cultivate collaboration.
·  Ensures balance of team contribution to development and Level 3 support activities.
·  Continuously reflects on how to become more effective. Tunes and adjusts team norms and helps to update IT standards.

·  Has an end-to-end understanding of functional and technical solutions and how it is creating business value to a level that enables contributing and/or challenging Business and/or technical requirements.
·  Maximises this understanding to Lead and contribute to a team responsible for crafting, building, deploying solutions that deliver the business needs with a value driven mind set.
·  Ensures the implemented solutions have the right level of performance, automation, monitoring, documentation and that they are properly transferred to support.
·  Ensures alignment to Group Architectural and Development standards for security, integration, and monitoring.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

·  Large scale experience in software development, scripting, project execution
·  Extensive experience designing and implementing system monitoring and automation tools.
·  Leadership Skills: Mentoring, Goal setting/evaluation, Conflict Resolution, Team member skill improvement, 
·  Programming Languages: Cobol, JCL, Java, or another Object-Oriented based language.
·  Databases: IDMS, DB2
