THE OPPORTUNITY

The Quality Process Engineer is essential to the success of the Company, working in an innovative and fast paced environment. Responsible for ensuring the highest quality performance and progress goals are fully realized through the application and implementation of Michelin's world class practices. These high standards are rooted in the functions of variation reduction, root cause analysis, and problem solving using the 5 why approach. We have an immediate opening in our Lexington Metallic Tissue Manufacturing facility, in South Carolina.

Located in Lexington County, we are proud to be an integral partner in one of the fastest growing communities in South Carolina.  We are centrally located to many of the state's top destinations with Lake Murray nestled in our backyard. We are committed to positively impacting the community through volunteer efforts. Founded in 2017, our plant supplies metallic tissue to Michelin’s Earthmover plants which produce tires ranging from 51” to 63” seat size.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

·  Ensure products manufactured by the team comply with Michelin's quality specifications, planning model and obtention standards.
·  Build and implement progress plans that will improve quality performance.
·  Ensure quality and productivity performances stay in sync with goals defined by the shop. “Right the first time” principles are applied.
·  Ensure causes of anomalies and nonperformance are resolved and are input into the progress plan.
·  Evaluate and validate all customer risks, non-compliance, abnormalities, and performance deviations in the shop with an appropriate level of reaction.
·  Monitor and improve process controls to improve machine reliability and quality results.
·  Provide feedback on compliance and standards to area of responsibility.
·  Develop guidelines and standards for operators based on quality referentials.
·  Apply problem solving tools in a multi-functional diverse team to eliminate process waste.
·  Collect and analyze data to tackle problems and help drive decisions.
·  Design components in the facility that will be used to construct metallic tissue.
·  Conduct trials to ensure metallic tissues are optimized for mass production.
·  Support the industrialization of new materials for use in the production process.
·  Lead/Participate in quality planning for products, materials, processes, and methods.
·  Draw logical conclusions based on in depth analysis of information.
·  Work in a team-based work environment.
·  Mentor operators to improve application of manufacturing standards and reaction in the event of deviation.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

·  Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact in a professional manner with external partners, suppliers, customers, and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
·  Strong teamwork, leadership, and organizational skills.
·  Effective communicator with peers, management, employees, customers, and vendors
·  Proficient with MS Office Applications.
·  Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment where best in class quality and innovation are critical.
·  Ability to multitask and lead numerous projects simultaneously.
·  Effective problem-solving skills and process/product relationship knowledge.
·  Attention to detail, data accuracy.
·  B.S. in Mechanical engineering or Chemical engineering.
·  Knowledge of problem-solving methodology (A3, Six Sigma, etc), statistical process control, and process capability all strongly preferred.
·  Previous experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
