Inventory Clerk

Department: CA Distribution

Location: Whittier, CA 

The Inventory Clerk reports to the Inventory Supervisor. This member of the Distribution team is responsible for evaluating and monitoring inventory levels by location. Through analytical skills and records, the Inventory Clerk identifies sources of inventory, corrects and reports inventory issues, and implements policies and procedures regarding inventory management.

Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to:            

·  Assists the department daily with managing the workload and priorities in the Distribution Center
·  Analyzes and maintains sufficient inventory levels to meet production, while maintaining inventory level accuracy in accordance with operations guidelines
·  Performs frequent cycle counts
·  Analyzes cycle count results/variances within 24 hours and investigates discrepancies by doing research and finding a resolution
·  Reviews and analyzes inventory issues by checking WMI/MA and RF transactions
·  Adheres to the Inventory Adjustments process, procedures and guidelines
·  Effectively communicates and interacts with all levels of employees in the Distribution Center, Production and Sales, in person or via e-mail to ensure inventory requirements are met on a daily basis
·  Assists Supervisor on reviewing backorders, blocked, old, and negative inventory in WM and JDA, resolving discrepancies quickly
·  Assists Supervisor to ensure that all negatives in locations are cleaned each day from WMS system (i.e. handling units, active locations, etc.)
·  Reviews and evaluates inventory control policy and procedures, and makes recommendations for changes
·  Communicates to Manager/Supervisor of any process or procedures not being followed by the Distribution Center staff
·  Assists the Distribution Center team by efficiently locating product both physically and in all systems/plants.
·  Performs other duties as assigned

Essential Skills:

·  Must possess strong analytical skills
·  Ability to make accurate and efficient inventory counts
·  Must be detail oriented with ability to multi task
·  Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement using whole numbers and decimal is required
·  Must be able to work independently and as a team
·  Understand financial impact of all inventory transactions

           

Requirements:

·  Minimum of 2 years’ experience including warehouse and use of RF scanners
·  Must have Inventory Control Experience as well as experience with cycle counting and conducting audits
·  Must have MS Office knowledge and basic data entry skills
·  Excellent written and oral communication skills, Bilingual is a plus
·  Ability to read, speak and write in English

·  Occasional grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation and repetitive hand movements
·  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus
