Junior Product Owner role
The Junior Product Owner will work closely with the Digital Products Leader for UK & Ireland, and a large range of business and technical stakeholders, vendors, agencies and SAAS providers.
Key responsibilities include:
· Lead the ideation, technical development, and launch of innovative products in the areas of health, wealth and career.
· Develop and maintain realistic plans and roadmaps for product development on specific products for the full product lifecycle. Ensure that these are feasible, financially viable and appropriately prioritised.
· Champion product improvement and innovation across the Digital Team and the B-B-C business for assigned product sets.
· Lead Business and Technical stakeholders internally and with our vendor, product and SAAS partners, to rapidly understand and articulate user needs.
· Facilitate the translation of the customer experience into User Stories, following Agile Scrum methodology.
· Actively manage development backlogs by creating, prioritizing and grooming product backlog – including the validation thereof, through backlog grooming sessions with business stakeholders and technical leads.
· Lead our User Experience and User Interface Design teams
· Get your sleeves rolled up with User Acceptance Testing sprints on digital products.
· Monitor and research key and emerging trends relating to assigned product sets.
· Integrate usability studies, research and market analysis into product requirements to enhance user satisfaction
At times there may be opportunities to contribute to a wide range of project management tasks or take on other responsibilities, including internal/ external and client presentations, innovation workshops or customer research.
Desired profile
Preferred Skills/ Qualifications:
· Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)/ Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) qualification or working knowledge of Agile Methodology.
· Demonstrated ability to understand customer needs and translate them into prioritized business and technical requirements.
· Awareness of user centred design principles and practices.
· Good understanding of software development processes.
· Excellent communications skills required to gain alignment and secure resources to achieve aggressive goals; ability to build strong relationships with key business partners and stakeholders.
· Knowledge of web analytics, ideally including Adobe Omniture Site Catalyst and/ or Google Analytics.
· Results oriented, driven, self-starter who demonstrates initiative and tenacity.
· High energy, solution oriented team player with ability to effectively navigate a matrixed organization to drive results.
· The successful candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, flexible spirit and tremendous will to win.
· Strong analytic and project management skills with a focus on flawless execution and attention to detail.
· A passion for building customer loyalty.
· Strong ethics and a demonstrated sense for doing what's right for our customers, clients, business and shareholders.
Desired experience
· Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in a computer science, computer engineering.
· Proven experience of digital product development and management.
· Experience delivering digital within large organisations with multiple stakeholders and audiences in the private and/or public sector.
· Good experience of business analysis, product design, user acceptance testing, trend analysis and marketing.
· Experience developing social products, technologies and platforms is strongly desired
· Experience of working in a project management / software development environment, ideally including hands-on project management experience. H
· Substantial experience of working collaboratively to achieve high quality outcomes.
