Business/Unit Summary
Mercer's DS Business provides sophisticated implementation and investment risk management services to clients. The business has grown rapidly over recent years with $115bn of client assets now under management globally, c. $50bn of which is invested on behalf of European investors. Services are provided across a range of areas across traditional and alternative asset classes reflecting Mercer's best investment ideas. Mercer's Portfolio Management Team in turn selects third party managers, from Mercers list of “A” rated managers in each asset class thus combining Mercer's in-house portfolio management expertise with the depth and breadth of Mercer Investment's global investment manager research.
Mercer's fund range was launched in Europe in September 2006 and currently consists of c.60 Irish domiciled funds across 4 legal structures. In addition to the ability to provide bespoke solutions to large sophisticated clients these funds provide building blocks to support Mercer's wider range of investment and risk management solutions targeting the institutional marketplace. Responsibilities
· Providing support to regional DS Sales Leader s on all aspects of business development activities
· Take ownership of RfP response co-ordination in addition to wider business development support via document drafting and PowerPoint preparation as required.
· Assist with pipeline management processes and new business prospecting activities as required
· Liaising with performance reporting unit, portfolio management teams, operational and consulting teams in relation to the production of appropriate business development collateral.
· Support the completion of varied projects such as new product launches, marketing initiatives and new market penetrations.
· Promote the development of broader internal and external awareness in relation to Mercer's investment and implementation capabilities
· Collaborate to support the successful delivery of Mercer's DS sales strategy with large asset owners via the organization of prospect/client events, the delivery of marketing/sales materials and general sales support as required.
Facilitate other ad-hoc projects/duties and business development support required to support the successful.
Desired profile
Experience:
· Strong work ethic along with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Attention to detail is critical.
· Capable of taking responsibility for deliverables within a small, dynamic and high functioning team.
· Proactive and goal orientated with the ability to develop positive working relationships across the organization.
· An interested in investment markets/products along with the motivation to learn more about the institutional investment landscape and sales process are a key requirement.
· Outstanding communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
· Excellent organization and project management skills
· Ethical and hardworking with a focus on the achievement of results
· Third level qualification with a strong academic track record.
· Candidates who are in the process of pursuing the CFA or the Actuarial qualification are welcome.
· Possess strong IT skills. (in particular a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
