Data Mapping Technician

Job description

The Data Mapping Technician will complete testing, validation and programming of client employee benefits information data files to carriers and other vendors. To fulfill this role, the Data Mapping Technician will:

· Be responsible for programming, testing and validating client employee benefits data files for new client implementations and successive benefits renewals within the small-market operations
· Ensure programming is accurate and complete by attending carrier requirements gathering meetings and reviewing carrier requirements, specifically: creating new download maps for Maintenance, Positive Eligibility, Transactional, and full census; copying maps; updating download maps for Maintenance, Positive Eligibility, Transactional, and full census; scheduling download and upload maps; updating upload maps for Update, Refresh and Partials; completing Client and/or Carrier audits, using standard reports, to verify data; importing and comparing data sets using Excel and/or Access; completing download map testing; cycling data – input/output
· Be responsible for assisting with client issue resolution, specifically researching issues related to clients' data files reported by clients and ISAs
· Be responsible for maintaining and updating the GOSS open issue log

Desired profile

·  Bachelor's degree preferred in Information Technology or Business
·  2+ years' programming experience with VbScript required
·  Beginner/intermediate technical skills (programming logic/design and/or VbScript)
·  Intermediate Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Access)
·  Employee Benefits industry knowledge preferred
·  Basic/intermediate verbal and written communication skills
·  Strong presentation skills
·  Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner, manage difficult situations professionally, and respond to client needs promptly
·  Ability to develop and foster successful business relationships by phone and in person
·  Excellent customer service
·  Task oriented with attention to detail
·  Ability to work independently and on a team
