Specialist Tandoori Chef

Our client is a 30 year old family run, prestigious, fine dining Indian restaurant based in London recommended in all the major food guides with 2 AA rosettes for its refined cuisine since major refurbishment. Our client has enjoyed unfettered success in the last couple of years and now with plans to expand the business they are currently seeking an exceptionally talented Tandoori Chef with a flare for creativity and passion for food.

As the Tandoori Chef you will report to the Head Chef. Your prime responsibility will be heading the tandoori kitchen performing the following tasks:

• Creating and developing the menus in contemporary manner,
• Assisting the head chef in the day to day running for the kitchen,
• Deputising in the absence of the head and second chef,
• Report and document any observed or known safety hazards, conditions or unsafe practices and procedures,
• Assisting the head chef in menu planning, preparing food cost reports and recommendation for the most cost effective recipes,
• Assisting with maintaining food production supplies and materials.
• Preparing estimates for daily and weekly requirements in your section.
• Monitoring the quality of food taste and presentation of dishes prepared by the junior grade chefs,
• Staff training and Health and safety and Hygiene matters within the kitchen.
• Monitoring the junior grade chefs for hygiene and uniforms,
• Making recommendations of the progress and performance of the junior grade chefs.

The ideal candidate must have proven experience in Hospitality Management, particularly in food production. You will be standards driven with a passion for creating Indian Cuisine. You will be detail oriented coupled with excellent team leadership skills and an ability to motivate others. You should also enjoy leading and developing associates, resolving problems under time pressure.
