Job description
Detects, consolidates and analyses engineering needs and opportunities in the hotel and provides feedback to both the GM and Engineering Partner.
Ø Together with the GM, responsible for the monitoring and control of any technical and legal standards applicable to facilities and buildings, HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points), acting as a Preventative Resource for activities that involve risk, ensuring the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) of all staff and coordinating as required with external companies in OHS matters.
Ø Updates the data room with information on the hotels in the Operations Centre
Ø Attends unplanned inspections if they occur.
Ø Supervises the resolution of any technical or legal incidents
Ø Coordinates hotel teams and provides instructions for carrying out the activities in the Preventative Maintenance Plan
Ø Assigns and prioritises corrective maintenance duties, providing the instructions required for their implementation
Ø Analyses and monitors the key hotel energy and environmental indicators on a daily basis, supporting actions for their constant improvement
Ø Supervises the implementation of company policies and projects in matters related to energy use
Ø Reviews the Material Stocks in the hotel
Ø When required, authorises the purchase of technical products (replacement of low or medium cost materials), supervising their correct use and expenditure on said materials.
Ø Key user for the tools available (Smarkia, SgClima, Asernerval, etc.), monitoring hotel energy consumption and ensuring the proper use and performance of facilities.
Ø Analyses and prioritises hotel investment requests for the Risks AIP, collecting all the required authorisations according to MHI regulations
Ø Manages smaller investment projects in the Risks AIP and SAVE. Supervises the contract if works are carried out by an external supplier
Annually review the training plan with the hotel General Management and HR area, in order to propose training actions based on the needs of the team.
Ø Be knowledgeable of the development plans and tools in Human Resources and promote their use (Melia Home, climate, E-melia, development plans, Moving-Up, Graduates Programs, Code of Ethics...).
Ø Identify high potential staff and actively participate in the development of their team and trainees (if applicable).
Ø Conduct their team’s performance reviews.
Ø Be knowledgeable and analyse the climate results of their department. Design together with the team the action plans and implement them, while ensuring participation in the measurement period.
Ø Ensure the participation of their team in the wellness programmes made available to them
