Melariche (pronounced 'mel - uh - reesh', a combination of the phrase ‘melanin-rich’) is an online beauty retailer for women of colour. We curate the best makeup , haircare and skincare brands that embrace diversity. For us, that means offering foundations and cosmetics in shades suitable for women with darker skin tones and haircare and skincare products that address concerns common amongst women with melanin-rich skin.

We are looking for a talented creative writer and social-media savvy individual to join us during this exciting time as we prepare to re-launch our ecommerce site and grow our customer base substantially. Passion for beauty is a plus!

The successful candidate will run our beauty blog, sharing trends, tutorials, tips and inspiration. The individual will be responsible for maintaining our blog editorial calendar, generating fresh ideas for the blog, and writing posts that speak to our target demographic.

As a relatively new company and small business, we are not able to offer payment for this role but we aim to provide a great learning experience and help you develop your writing portfolio.

Responsibilities:

* Maintaining our editorial calendar to plan and schedule blog post, including generating topic ideas that are relevant to women of colour and promoting products we retail
* Write 1-2 blog posts per week in a fun tone of voice
* Creating eye-catching graphics for blog post using our stock or original photographs
* Create and publish social media (twitter/instagram/facebook/pinterest) posts to share our blog

Candidate can work from home on their laptop.

Desired profile

Ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications:

- Excellent research and writing skills.
- Experience writing copy for beauty or fashion related editorials or blogs is preferred.
- Working knowledge of SEO principles, such as keyword research
- Experience designing graphics that encourage sharing on social media (preferably using Canva)

This role is perfect for a recent graduate looking to gain experience in beauty related content writing. Potential for the role to turn into a paid position on successful completion.
