RTG (Restorative Therapies Group) Business Overview
The Restorative Therapies Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions that span the care continuum; integrating technologies and applying clinical and economic evidence to increase patient access, improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.

·  SPINE shapes spine surgery for the better; delivering procedural solutions and therapeutic biologics and partnering with other healthcare stakeholders to accelerate innovations that can improve surgical efficiencies and help create better outcomes for more patients.
·  BRAIN THERAPIES offers an integrated portfolio of devices
and therapies for the treatment of neurological disorders and diseases, as well as surgical technologies designed to improvethe precision and workflow of neuro procedures.
·  PAIN THERAPIES offers solutions — from early interventional procedures to implantable surgical technologies — that treat chronic pain as well as pain from spinal fractures, cancer and severe spasticity.
·  SPECIALTY THERAPIES offers a broad portfolio that addresses urologic and gastrointestinal disorders, conditions of the ear, nose and throat, as well as electrosurgical products for soft tissue dissection and hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Sr R&D Engineer will provide engineering support for technologies used to treat brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and other vascular lesions. This support will lead to the introduction of new products in key markets around the world, education of products to our customers, and post commercialization engineering studies.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Including but not limited to:
• Lead projects and studies to solve design-related challenges.
• Provide technical leadership and engineering support to cross-functional teams as a subject matter expert.
• Establish and improve manufacturing processes, quality systems, and business processes.
• Mentor and guide associate engineers.
• Design and develop test methods to support additional studies post-commercialization.
• Plan and execute on product development deliverables.
• Apply engineering principles to product design analysis and assessment.
• Produce engineering reports to provide technical explanation to support domestic and international regulatory submissions.
• Leverage engineering knowledge in conducting complaint evaluations and CAPA investigations to understand potential device failures.
• Prepare technical product documentation including design history files, drawings, bills of materials, test protocols and reports, engineering change orders (ECO), etc.
• Coordinate and lead competitive testing and aging testing.
• Interact with physicians to assist with product demonstrations.
• Optimize and refine existing products to improve performance.
• Develop familiarity with endovascular procedures and apply the knowledge to product development and product risk assessment.
• Provide guidance to technicians and pilot associates.
• Identify problems and recommend solutions.
• May have supervisory responsibility

REQUIRED EDUCATION :
BS or MS degree (Mechanical, Materials, Biomedical Engineering, or related technical field).

REQUIRED YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
• 4+ Years with Bachelors
• 2+ Years with Masters

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE
• Computer applications (i.e.: Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows, Visio, etc.)
• Proper English usage, grammar, spelling, vocabulary and of generally accepted office practices, procedures and equipment
• Basic statistics

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Medical device experience
• Statistical expertise
• Endovascular (especially Neurovascular) knowledge and experience
• Lean six sigma methodology / DFSS / DRM
• Project management experience
