Machine Operator II (80s Line)

Job description

1.         Detect and report obviously defective materials or malfunctioning equipment to proper level of supervision.

        2.         Observe and follow all safety rules and regulations. Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.

        3.         Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

        4.         May be required to transport heavy products using carts, hand trucks to holding/storage locations.

        5.         Prepare and label product packaging components provided and positioned at work station by others. 

        6.         May be required to count WIP (work in progress) and place on work station, assemble/package and/or prepare for next operation as instructed.

        7.         Receive finished products and assemble/package according to specified instructions and procedures.

        8.         May be required to weigh filled product container to ensure weight is within prescribed “go or no go” limits, and/or conduct “pass fail” testing using measurement instruments or devices.

        9.         Visually check for obvious defects, referring to area specific inspection standard, cull out defective product and inform operator/team leader.

      10.       Record production data and complete various forms as instructed.

      11.       Able to perform 6S audits as instructed.

      12.       Capable of participating in and leading 6S program ensuring audits are completed.

      13.       Partner with Associates or other operators as appropriate.

      14.       Print and verify labels for jobs.

      15.       Record production data and complete various forms as instructed.

      16.       Able to lead, instruct, and mentor associates within process.

      17.       Complete controlled documentation legibly, as well as review, verify, and close out documentation. (DHRs)

      18.       Capable for working with other shift Machine Operators as appropriate to perform shift hand offs and discuss machine issues. 

      19.       Elevate machine faults that are outside operators skill set to maintenance and supervision.

      20.       Must be able to complete job processing transactions for material acquisitions and job processing in computer systems.  To include inventory transactions while ensuring proper return of materials to designated locations.

      21.       Perform other similar or related duties as instructed by supervision.

      22.       Assume leadership roles when leadership is unavailable.

      23.       Act in a lead role for cellular teams including monitoring performance and maintaining performance records as required.

      24.       Able to work extended hours either during the week or possibly on weekends to accommodate monthly scheduled goals and cover for other employee vacation.

      25.       Must be crossed trained on multiple moderately complex machines within the department as well as in other departments, to allow for flexibility of scheduling.

      26.       Must meet all Performance requirements on a consistent basis.

      27.       Must be able to resolve most mechanical issues on their own with limited maintenance technician assistance.

      28.       Perform other similar or related duties as instructed by supervision.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Skills/Competencies:

English (written and verbal literacy), Basic math, effective communication Able to communicate effectively. Able to take direction and work within a team setting.
